The Michigan GT is an age old gaming convention in Lansing Michigan. It was a great time and I highly recommend you check it out. It was 22 players over Saturday/Sunday with 5-rounds of swiss standard Legion. Here is a glimpse into the top 8 and their lists.
8th Place – Brian the Mando
Empire Good Stuff
This list is an Imperial good stuff list. It has the killiest of killy stuff for empire. ATSTs, Darth Vader, Flame throwers and Iden. Overal this list has a bit of everything to be flexible in almost every situation. Brian went 3-2 with this list congratulations to Brian.
7th Place – Jacob Sherman
Anakin 501st
This follows the trend of what we've been seeing in a lot of tournaments with 501st performing exceptionally well. This one sports no rex but adds Delta Sqaud as a nice unique touch. Jacob also had not one but two massive squads to throw incredibly sizeable dice pools.
6th Place – Dronus
Palpatine's Inquisitorious
Hope your not a courage 1 unit. This list sports three majorly suppressive units and a list that likes to heavily assault you at range 4. Palpatine also can pull the strings to shoot again or send inquisitors further up the field. It also has some line backers to keep off the melee deterrents and manage incoming fire with the irg.
5th Place – Isaac Van Loh
The Rizz of Skywalker
Another Anakin 501st here but with an amazing list name ;) . This list sports all the classic good stuff but with eight special forces. The snipers here gives some great early attrition to the opponent until the other Arcs can close the gap to really hammer units to death. Great job to Isaac for getting 5th!
4th Place – Trevor Wicks
Season 7 Clone Wars
And..... Another Anakin list, this time with Captain Rex & Bad Batch. This list hits it's opponent like a "Wreck-ing" Ball as Bad Batch is able to just throw dice like an ATST and more effectively too with so many self generated tokens. This team wants to get all its units far up the board with infiltrate, scout and scouting party to relentlessly bully it's opponent with dice.
3rd Place – Matt Evans | FlawedZombie
Rebel Onslaught
14 activation Rebels with an Operative Luke centerpiece. This list has prepared positions of eight units that can have/take standbys at range 3 and shoot range 4. It has ALOT of critical to get through dodge tokens and make damage stick while also having flamer ATRTs to deal with corp and massive squads (I did roll 22 dice flamethrower at one point). Meanwhile Operative Luke can charge in and do his thing eating activations, taking out Anakins and using I Am a Jedi to turn off Bad Batch and other problematic units.
2nd Place – Ryan Schneider
Yoda, Bad Batch, Anakin
This army is pure cheese and has been notorious in our local play area of Indianapolis since 2.6 has launched! Yoda allows Bad Batch to shoot 20 dice a round with often 4-5 aims, pierce 2 and precise. Meanwhile Anakin the wrecking ball can move around the edges of the board cleaning up anything that breaths outside of the center.
1st Place – Dave Johnson | Delta Dave
Yoda, Bad Batch, Anakin - The Shadow of Greed
Look another Yoda, Bad Batch, Anakin. This list had a massive 3285 points killed over 5 games. If there is a king of "W-key" list in the game currently I genuinely think this is it. Congratulations to DeltaDave for his win at the Michigan GT!
Thank you to all the TO's, Michigan GT and all players that showed up and helped make this event possible! Until next time, May the force be with you!
