Atomic Mass Games held an event at GenCon as a Grand Tournament. It was one last ride of Legion 2.5 version as it did not use the new rule set dropped during ministravaganza. It was 48 players over Friday/Saturday with 6-rounds of swiss standard Legion. Here is a glimpse into the top 8 and their lists.
8th Place – Brian Ludwick
Remnant Rebuilt Mark2
A classic remnant list, this list sports what empire players love a lot and thats guns and more guns. The free tokens help shore up any missed shots and the Dark Troopers are still alot to deal with with their full armor and marching double activations.
7th Place – Matthew Gergely
Ion Maul: Anti-Meta Verse
This is a great CIS list that looks like it may have been designed to counter EXP and did really well with Matthew Gergely piloting it. Well done Gergs!
6th Place – Austin Miller
One Last Ride
If this list looks familiar to you that would be because it is. Austin brought his own version of Brian Baer's Adepticon 2024 list. This list is designed to deliver Luke and R2 to score his secret mission and wreak as much havoc as the Son of Skywalker can manage.
5th Place – Grant Young
Mad Maul
Grant is a Chicago local, if I am remembering that correctly. I had the great pleasure of playing against him and he mentioned this was his first tournament so well done Grant! My first tournament I finished 17/20 lol. This is a classic Maul, Bus, Black Sun combo and Grant did a great job of piloting it.
4th Place – Nate Adams
Infiltrate-her? I Barely Know Her!
797/800 – 9 Activations
Clone Captain Rex 95 + 15 = 110
--Up Close and Personal (8), Recon Intel (2), JT-12 Jetpacks (5)
R2-D2 55 + 15 = 70
--C-3PO (15)
Padme Amidala 85 + 10 = 95
--Seize the Initiative (5), Prepared Supplies (5)
Phase I Clone Troopers 52 + 39 = 91
--DC-15 Phase I Trooper (24), Clone Medic (15)
Phase I Clone Troopers 52 + 36 = 88
--RPS-6 Phase I Trooper (21), Clone Medic (15)
Phase II Clone Troopers 60 + 33 = 93
--Phase II Mortar Trooper (18), Clone Medic (15)
Clone Commandos (DS) (Delta Squad) 100
--Katarn Pattern Armor (0), DC-17m ICWS Config (0)
2x Clone Commandos 75 x 2 = 150
--Katarn Pattern Armor (0), DC-17m ICWS Config (0)
Call Me Captain•, Blast Off!•, Aggressive Negotiations••, Take That, Clankers!••, We're Not Programmed•••, Diplomatic Cover•••, Standing Orders••••
Nate is an Indianapolis local from the North side. He was sporting a classic aggressive Commando gunline with a double secret mission flavor. Padme can support with tokens or push up for threat of scoring an extra VP.
3rd Place – Danny Trujillo
One last time for the cursed inefficiency
Danny was running a familiar list for him with Yoda and R2 but with the help of Chewie. This list plays objectives extremely well and can often catch his opponent off guard with Yoda's Force Lift and the tricks it can make.
2nd Place – Matthew Beaty
Bad Batch?
796/800 – 8 activations
Commanders:
- Obi-Wan Kenobi (170): Force Barrier (10), Force Reflexes (5), Improvised Orders (5), Protector (5) = 195
Operative:
- The Bad Batch = 160
Corps:
- 2× Phase I Clone Troopers (52): Clone Medic (15) = 134
- Phase I Clone Troopers = 52
Support:
- 3× Clone Commandos (75): Katarn Pattern Armor (0), HQ Uplink (10), DC-17m ICWS Config (0) = 255
Commands: • Ambush, • Hello There!, •• Knowledge and Defense, •• Push, ••• General Kenobi, ••• We Do What We Do, •••• Standing Orders
Another Indianapolis local, Matt Beaty brought the most tanky list I can think of with an Obi-Wan Clone ball and Bad Batch is there to deliver the heat with big dice pool shots. Well done Matt!
1st Place – Matt Evans | FlawedZombie

2x Fleet Troopers 40 x 2 = 80
Ewok Slingers 35 + 2 = 37

2x Swoop Bike Riders 65 x 2 = 130
Sorry About the Mess•, Explosions!•, Symbol of Rebellion••, Reckless Diversion••, Legacy of Mandalore•••, Change of Plans•••, Standing Orders••••
This is me! My list is a classic go to for me with a splash of Han Solo. Han plays well into commando's and clone balls and Sabine/Ahsoka are able to handle objectives and other difficult units. What an amazing event over 6 rounds!
Thank you to all the TO's, AMG and all players that showed up and helped make this event possible! Until next time, May the force be with you!
